The ancient cosmological wisdom of Anatolian cultures is deeply rooted in their understanding of astronomy, cyclical patterns, and lunar/solar sciences. These traditions encompass a wide range of knowledge, from celestial observations to the integration of the cosmos into their spiritual and cultural practices.
Anatolian cultures, particularly those centered in regions like present-day Turkey, were early observers of the stars, planets, and their movements. Sites like Göbekli Tepe and Karahan Tepe are testaments to their advanced understanding of celestial cycles, dating back to at least 9600 BC. Interestingly, some of these practices have endured through millennia and are still alive in contemporary Anatolian cultures. Communities in this region continue to celebrate festivals and rituals that echo the ancient cyclical patterns, honoring the seasonal changes, the phases of the moon, and the solar journey, demonstrating a living connection to their ancestral cosmological knowledge.
Mythological Dreams as Windows into Cosmic Order
Charlotte Moroz’s presentation at CPAK explores mythology as an active, imaginative process—one that connects dreams, cosmology, and cultural memory..
This talk examines:
- Mythological dreams as sources of insight and transmission
- The relationship between celestial cycles and symbolic narratives
- How lunar and solar patterns informed ritual and storytelling
- The continuity of ancient cosmological imagination into living traditions
At CPAK, mythology becomes not only something to analyze—but something to listen to, interpret, and re-engage as a living tradition.
